On Saturday, March 1st, 2025, we will be hosting the Great Lakes Symposium on campus, in room P115, from 8:30a.m. to 5:00p.m.
Alongside our friends at the North American hub of the Global Rights of Nature Tribunal (GARN), we will gathering to share our stories and strategies in advocating for the Rights of Nature around the Great Lakes region. This will be a public event with grassroots organizations from around the region presenting on their work.
Amongst the distinguished line-up of speakers, one of our Clinic project partners — Rebecca Liebing, legal counsel at the Bay Mills Indian Community (U.S.) — will join the discussion to talk about our international and legal efforts to shut down the Line 5 pipeline. Learn more about our advocacy efforts in the Center for International Environmental Law's Press Release.
This event is organized in collaboration with GARN's North American Hub, and the Environmental Law Club (ELC) at U of T Law.
